Hello again, everyone.
So, lots has been happening in my life -- very little of it harmonica related though, so I won't linger on it. But let's just say I'm at least making an effort to get back to the blogging, if not to the blogging about the practicing, specifically, especially since that would leave me nothing to blog about.
Recently, on the venerable Slidemeister discussion boards, I got into a long discussion with some people about Hip Hop. Though the conversation started with the question of harmonicas in Hip Hop, it quickly moved to the question of Hip Hop's place in music and in society. I won't recreate that discussion here, but it did lead me to think more and more about my own relationship to Hip Hop, and it's led me on a search for Hip Hop-related harmonica music.

This is a question I come back to often:
I always struggle with just what I should be practicing. And any time I chose a "regimen," it's always incomplete. With endless hours in the day I'd simply do it all: scales, reading, songs, rhythm, backup playing, tone, technique, you name it. Every genre, every trick, all the time. But... given a limited amount of time...
So, here's where I'm at now. I'd be interested in knowing what other people think of this:

The Daily 'Shed.
I know I've been away for awhile. What with the holidays and a little trip I took afterwards, I just haven't been making time for the blog. I haven't been practicing as much either, to be honest. I still have to figure out how to work the blogging end of things into my schedule (since it takes time to work on blog posts and ideas, time that I'm not spending doing other things, like practicing), but it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to add my practice journal to the blog.
